NAVESINK MILITARY RESERVATION, Hartshorne Woods Park

Middletown NJ, Monmouth County Park System

2015 National Register Nomination and 2016 booklet for the 245-acre Military Reservation with five World War II tactical military structures, including the 600-feet long Battery Lewis, built by the U.S. Army in 1942 with two 16-inch guns to protect the entrance to New York Harbor by Sandy Hook. Battery Lewis is open to the public on specific days.

MOUNTAIN LAKES PRESERVE Historic Dams Rehabilitation, Princeton, NJ

Stone and concrete dams and other 1884-1906 features were restored and partially reconstructed to preserve the site’s historic significance while incorporating NJ DEP dam safety standards.  2013 N.J. Historic Preservation Office Historic Preservation Award. 

The 2013 award included the interpretation of ice harvesting at Mountain Lake and the 2010-2012 rehabilitation of the dams in five signs with historic images, historic document excerpts, and descriptive text.

ROEBLING MUSEUM, Roebling, NJ

Planning, interpretation and curatorial services: Master Plan; Artifacts Inventories; Exhibition and Millyard Interpretation Plans; the Roebling Stories orientation film; and the booklet, Mercer Magic: The Mercer Automobile Company, Founded 1909.  __________________________________________________________________________

BROAD STREET BANK BUILDING, Trenton, NJ

Consulting for the $30 million reuse of the 140,000 sq.ft., 1899-1913-1924 building for apartments and stores included National Register listing, Historic Investment Tax Credit Certification, architectural restoration, and the booklet “Trenton’s First Sky-Scraper.”  City of Trenton and N.J. Historic Preservation Office Historic Preservation Awards.

HACKENSACK WATER WORKS, Oradell, NJ

Assisting the Water Works Conservancy in preserving and interpreting the 1883-1906-1911 complex included a National Landmark Nomination; a manuscript for The Hackensack River Through Time, a children’s book; and The Hackensack Water Works book, which received Bergen County and N.J. Historic Preservation Office Historic Preservation Awards. __________________________________________________________________________

National Register Nomination for Block 3

Consulting on the 25-acre Roebling Works also included the “Roebling Redevelopment Plan,” adopted by Trenton City Council; the “Trenton Historic Industrial District National Register Nomination” (including the adjacent Trenton Iron Co.-American Steel & Wire Co. site); the Roebling Online Archive, funded by the N. J . Council for the Humanities; “Roebling Machine Shop Historic Structure Report” for the factory’s 52,000 sq. ft., 1890-1901 “cathedral of industry,” the book Spanning the Industrial Age: The John A. Roebling’s Sons Company, supported by N.J. Historical Commission; and Now You’re Set for Life, an oral history film and booklet supported by the N. J . Council for the Humanities.

Projects for US EPA’s 150-acre Roebling Steel Superfund Site included a Stage 1A Architectural Survey of 58 structures for Ebasco Services, Historic Site Preservation Guidelines for URS Greiner, and Main Gate & Ambulance House Historic Structure Reports for Wiss Janney Elstner. __________________________________________________________________________
